FSA published its final report from a national audit project on animal welfare in broiler production 3 February 2012. Supervision The project was completed in 2011 and took up the entire production chain. Controls were performed at 25% of the country's broiler producers (152), all the country's incubator farms (3) and slaughterhouses (5) in addition to the transportation of animals. It should be mentioned that the selected herds were not random but based on risk assessments.
VSFF has long planned a debate referred chicken production in Norway. Initially, we were interested in discussing animal welfare industry. The report may, however, we read black on white that animal welfare at slaughter chickens must be improved;
"Animal Welfare Act's preamble is that animals should be treated well and not exposed to a risk of unnecessary stress and strain ... where those responsible for the animals, have a duty to ensure that each chicken the animal welfare throughout life ...
